The Birth of Sri Krishna
Sri Krishna was born in the town of Mathura, amidst divine prophecy and celestial events.His birth, as the eighth son of Devaki and Vasudeva, was foretold to end the tyranny of the evil king Kansa, Devaki’s brother. To protect Krishna from Kansa’s wrath, Vasudeva carried the newborn across the Yamuna River to Gokul, where he was raised by Nanda and Yashoda in a humble and nurturing environment.
